Education and learning are processes that requires much input from the external world as introspection and reflection from the internal self. The architecture of the Education Hub at Diu is a manifestation of these dualities. The landscape is raised up along the edges as sloping earth mounds, creating an internalised world, with guided flows from the outside. Within itself, it is an open space which will encourage free interaction to support multi-disciplinary scholarship. Famous universities of ancient India like Nalanda articulated this thought in their architecture of a courtyard in the centre of all learning activities with individual cells around.
