Project Title : Corporate House, INSDAG
INSDAG promotes the use of steel in construction, in particular stainless steel. The competition entry for their corporate house in Kolkotta is an expression of the property of steel to take load in tension. The dualities of steel construction against the mass of concrete heighten the experience of the lighter steel structure. The dualities are further expressed as served and servant spaces, borrowing from the Kahnian principles of organising spaces. The mass base houses services while the main spaces are hung from a steel stantion. These are enclosed with steel facets that reflect light at different angles as a shimmering facade.
